Your Personality Is Not a LinkedIn Strategy

Somewhere along the way, professional started meaning sanitized. Clean headshot. Clean bio. Clean opinions. Clean little corporate smile. And now everyone sounds like a slightly different version of the same person. That’s the problem.

A lot of young professionals are quietly realizing that “personal branding” has turned into performance. Not identity. Performance. You are not showing who you are. You are trying to look employable in public. Ugh. The weird part? The internet is moving in the opposite direction. People trust people who sound real. Not messy on purpose. Not fake-vulnerable. Just real. A little specific. A little imperfect. A little alive. You can feel it instantly when someone writes like a person instead of a polished brochure. And that matters more now because AI made generic content cheap. If everyone can generate a decent post in twelve seconds, then decent is dead. What stands out now is taste. Voice. Point of view. Timing. The stuff that does not come from sounding more professional than everyone else. The stuff that comes from sounding more like yourself, but sharper. This does not mean oversharing your trauma on the timeline. It means saying something actual. It means having edges. It means risking a sentence that sounds like you. It means letting people know there is a brain and a pulse behind the post. Because the truth is, most careers do not grow from being the safest person in the room. They grow from being memorable for the right reasons. Not louder. Not faker. Just more real. That is the new advantage. And honestly? Good. The old version was exhausting.Your Personality Is Not a LinkedIn Strategy
